Secu Legal is a Bucharest real estate law firm founded in January 2020 by Andreea Secu, who has practiced in the field since 2010. The website needed to translate the firm’s specialist positioning into a clear digital presence — bringing together its five-attorney team, Legal 500 recognition, twelve practice areas, and an extensive body of legal commentary and press coverage.

At the same time, the new site had to remain visually connected to Andreea Secu’s independent legal blog, launched a year earlier and still active today. Rather than treating the two domains as unrelated properties, we developed a shared visual language that allows each to retain its own role while clearly belonging to the same broader identity.

The Challenge

Secu Legal operates in a specialist field where credibility depends as much on the clarity and depth of information as it does on visual presentation. The website needed to organise a substantial amount of professional content without losing the focused, understated character expected from a boutique law firm.

  • Give each attorney a distinct professional presence, with individual experience, education, bar admission, and language information
  • Structure twelve specialist practice areas in a way that remains accessible to both legal professionals and clients
  • Turn years of interviews, legal analysis, conference appearances, and media coverage into a useful record of the firm’s expertise
  • Integrate Legal 500 recognition naturally into the firm’s wider professional profile rather than treating it as an isolated badge
  • Create continuity with Andreea Secu’s established editorial platform while allowing the firm website to develop its own more institutional character
  • Support a practice communicating with both Romanian and international clients, across content that regularly appears in both languages

What We Built for Secu Legal

The design is built around a restrained visual system that avoids the familiar corporate imagery commonly associated with legal websites. A monochrome M.C. Escher engraving becomes the site’s defining visual element, paired with the firm’s minimalist wordmark and a deliberately reduced palette.

The Arii de practică section gives the firm’s twelve areas of expertise a clear hierarchy, covering matters ranging from urban planning and construction authorisation to real estate financing, land concessions, and expropriation. Numbering, spacing, and concise descriptions make a technically dense field easier to navigate without oversimplifying the subject matter.

The team section was designed around individual professional profiles rather than a single collective presentation. Andreea Secu, Serafima Prodan, Marie Louise Zanfir, Cristina Coarnă, and Of Counsel Ana-Maria Mustățea each have dedicated pages bringing together their professional background, bar admission, academic experience, and languages.

Press coverage was treated as part of the firm’s knowledge and authority architecture rather than as a secondary archive. Apariții în presă brings together bylined legal commentary, interviews with publications including Profit.ro and Vice România, conference appearances, and the firm’s Legal 500 recognition in Real Estate and Construction within a chronological editorial structure.

A second part of the project was maintaining continuity with Andreea Secu’s independent legal blog. Because the editorial platform predates Secu Legal and continues to serve a different purpose, we did not simply merge the two. Instead, shared typography, navigation principles, the wordmark, and the Escher-inspired visual language connect both properties while preserving their distinct editorial and institutional roles.

The Result

The result is a focused digital presence for a specialist real estate law firm: one that gives equal weight to its people, areas of practice, published expertise, and professional recognition. Secu Legal has its own institutional identity, while remaining naturally connected to the editorial platform that preceded it — creating a coherent ecosystem across two independent domains.
