Cookie Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones we use on pavels.dev, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, serve a comparable purpose and are treated the same way in this policy.

2.Who is responsible for these cookies

Cookies on this website are set either by us, PAVELS WEB SOLUTIONS SRL (fiscal identification code / CUI 44099926, registered with the Trade Registry under no. J40/6699/2021), as first-party cookies, or by third-party service providers we work with, as described in section 5 below.

3.Categories of cookies we use

We keep the number of cookies on this website to a minimum and group them into two categories:

  • Strictly necessary / preference cookies. These are required for the website to work as intended, or store a choice you made, such as your cookie consent preference. They do not require your consent because, without them, the requested functionality could not be provided.
  • Analytics cookies. These help us understand how visitors interact with the website so we can improve our content and services. Besides which pages are visited, how long people stay and where visitors come from, we also measure interactions with the page itself: which buttons and links are clicked, which sections are scrolled into view, which questions are opened in the FAQ, and — on the contact form — which field failed validation and at which field a visitor stopped filling it in. These are only set after you give your consent through the cookie banner.
  • Advertising and personalisation cookies. We do not currently run advertising or remarketing campaigns on this website, so none are set today. The consent banner nevertheless offers this category separately, and the choice you make there is passed to Google Consent Mode, so that if we introduce such features in the future they will only activate once you have given your consent.

4.Cookies used on this website

The table below lists the cookies and storage items currently in use.

IP addresses collected through Google Analytics are anonymised before being processed. Analytics cookies and the session storage entries above are only created once you have granted consent through the cookie banner, and are removed again if you withdraw it. The data collected is retained in our Google Analytics property for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically; see our Privacy Policy for the full retention rules.

5.Third-party providers

We rely on a small number of third-party services that may, under your consent, place their own cookies:

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) — website traffic and usage statistics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • WhatsApp — the WhatsApp button in our footer links out to wa.me; once you leave our website, WhatsApp's own cookie and privacy practices apply.

Our contact form is protected by ALTCHA, a privacy-first, self-hosted spam-protection widget that does not use cookies and does not track visitors or share data with third parties.

6.Legal basis

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a functional website. Analytics cookies are used only with your prior consent, in accordance with Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (implementing Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended) and Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"). For details on how we process personal data collected through analytics, see our Privacy Policy.

7.Managing your preferences

You can review or change your cookie choice at any time by:

  • clicking the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of any page to reopen the consent banner;
  • adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies (this may affect how parts of the website function);
  • installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent Google Analytics from using your data on any website.

8.Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, technical or business reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
