CAR Credit Teiuș is a Romanian mutual aid credit union with more than 100 years of history, 20,016 members, and eight branches, and a founding member of FEDRO.INFOCAR.
The previous website had been built with Astra Theme and Elementor and was ready for both a technical and visual refresh. We rebuilt it from scratch in Breakdance, giving CAR Credit Teiuș a more modern, spacious, and current presentation while keeping the institutional character appropriate for an organization with a history dating back to 1924.
Breakdance has been one of the WordPress builders we have relied on for years, particularly for projects where performance, flexibility, and straightforward long-term maintenance matter. Its lean frontend approach, selective asset loading, CSS caching, detailed responsive controls, and freedom to create custom layouts without depending on a traditional multipurpose theme or multiple builder add-ons made it a strong fit here. Optimization was considered from the beginning, from the page structure itself to web-ready imagery and avoiding unnecessary components, while the visual editor keeps future content updates approachable for the client.
The Challenge
CAR Credit Teiuș combines a long institutional history with a broad range of services used by more than 20,000 members across several towns. The new website needed to make that information easier to navigate, give the organization a more contemporary digital presence, and bring its financial, social, and digital services together within the same coherent experience.
- Document a history dating back to 1924 alongside current membership figures and institutional affiliations
- Explain the loan evaluation process in language members can understand
- Present eight branches with their individual opening hours and contact details
- Give proper visibility to the Day Center and the services available to elderly members
- Introduce the mobile app as a practical self-service tool rather than treating it as a secondary download
- Replace the dated Astra and Elementor-based presentation of the previous site with a clearer visual hierarchy suited to both desktop and mobile
What We Built for CAR Credit Teiuș
The homepage brings the institution’s history together with the services members use today. More than a century of activity sits alongside information about loans, savings, the branch network, and the CAR Credit Teiuș mobile app, where members can check their social fund, loan balance, and instalments directly from their phone.

The About page documents that history in detail. The organization began as a credit cooperative in 1924, was closed under the communist regime in 1948, reopened in 1956, and was reorganized as CAR Credit Teiuș in 2006. Today it serves 20,016 members and, since June 2025, has also been a founding member of FEDRO.INFOCAR.

The Loans page explains the “5 C’s of credit” framework used when evaluating members — payment capacity, guarantee capacity, savings capacity, character, and credit history. Presenting the criteria directly gives prospective borrowers a clearer picture of what is taken into account before applying.

The Day Center has a dedicated place within the website rather than being reduced to a small mention beside the financial services. The center has served elderly members since 2014 and now includes a physiotherapy room opened in 2025 in partnership with Kineto-Pulse, with sessions coordinated by physiotherapist Trifa Andrei.

The Branches page brings all eight locations into one clear directory — the central office in Teiuș together with Abrud, Ștei, Blaj, Câmpeni, Cugir, Ocna Mureș, and Sebeș. Each branch has its own opening hours and contact information, making the site useful to members regardless of which local office they use.

The Result
A complete rebuild that moved CAR Credit Teiuș away from its previous Astra Theme and Elementor setup and gave the organization a clearer, more current digital presence. Its history, lending information, member services, mobile app, Day Center, and branch network now sit within a custom Breakdance website designed to better reflect the scale and character of an institution serving more than 20,000 members.
