Faith Ferando Cattery is a Persian Chinchilla Silver Shaded cattery run by Ramona, Dorin, and Andrei in Târgu Mureș, registered with the Magnificats club as a member of WCF (World Cat Federation). Over time, the cattery had accumulated much more than beautiful photography: pedigrees, health testing, show results, individual cat histories, and clear adoption rules. The website gave all of that information a proper structure, in both Romanian and English.

The Challenge

With pedigree cats, the details matter. A future owner may first notice the colour or expression of a kitten, but the decision usually involves much more: its parents, health background, pedigree, temperament, availability, and the conditions under which it can be adopted.

The challenge was to make that amount of information easy to explore without turning the site into a database that felt cold or difficult to use.

  • Create an individual record for every breeding cat, bringing together pedigree, colour code, titles, personality, and photography
  • Give kittens their own pages and keep their status current as they move from available to reserved or adopted
  • Keep previously adopted kittens visible, so the website also becomes a record of the cattery’s work over time
  • Present extensive genetic and viral testing in a way prospective owners can actually understand
  • Explain the adoption process and its conditions before a reservation is made
  • Give visitors enough information about the Persian Chinchilla breed to understand its temperament, care, coat, and health requirements
  • Make the same information available in Romanian and English

What We Built for Faith Ferando Cattery

Built with Breakdance, the site is organised around the cats themselves. Rather than grouping everything into a few general galleries, breeding cats and kittens are treated individually, with their own information and their own place in the history of Faith Ferando Cattery.

Every breeding cat has a dedicated profile with a photo gallery, temperament description, birth date, colour code, sire and dam, and its show results. Certificates and titles such as CAC, CACIB, Best of Breed, Best in Show, and championship results are kept together with the rest of the cat’s history rather than separated into a general achievements page.

For example, Chats D’elysee Cleo D’esert’s profile brings her parentage, championship record, and photography together on the same page. A visitor can understand who she is within the breeding program without searching across several sections of the site.

Kittens follow the same individual structure. Their pages include birth date, colour code, parents, photography, show information where relevant, and a clear status showing whether the kitten is available as a pet, available for breeding and show, reserved, or already adopted.

Importantly, adopted kittens do not disappear from the site. Faith Ferando Cezar, for example, remains part of the archive together with his European Championship record. Over time, these profiles build a much richer picture of what the cattery has produced than a gallery of currently available kittens ever could.

The breed section was designed for visitors who are still learning what living with a Persian Chinchilla actually involves. Personality, physical traits, coat care, diet, health considerations, and breed history are separated into clear sections and supported by photography from the cattery itself.

This turns the site into more than a place to check available kittens. Someone considering the breed for the first time can spend time understanding its needs before deciding whether it is the right fit for their home.

Health and adoption information has its own dedicated space as well. The parent cats have undergone more than 50 genetic and viral tests through a specialised laboratory in Helsinki, including PKD, PRA, blood group, and other checks relevant to the breeding program. Rather than reducing that to a simple “health tested” label, the site explains what sits behind it.

The adoption conditions are equally clear. Kittens leave from a minimum of 12 weeks, vaccinated, dewormed, and socialised, with pedigree, microchip, and passport where required. The reservation process, contract, and 35% deposit are explained before someone commits to a kitten.

Having this information online also changes the conversations that happen afterwards. Before calling, writing an email, or reaching out through social media, a prospective owner can already check availability, read the adoption conditions, understand the health testing, meet the parent cats, and look through kittens from previous years.

For Faith Ferando Cattery, that means fewer conversations spent repeating the same background information and more time discussing the things that are specific to a particular family or kitten.

The Romanian and English versions also give the cattery a permanent body of content that can be found and revisited independently of social media, whether someone is searching for Faith Ferando Cattery itself or researching Persian Chinchilla cats more broadly.

The Result

A bilingual website that works partly as a presentation and partly as a living archive of Faith Ferando Cattery. Breeding cats, kittens, pedigrees, titles, health testing, availability, and adoption conditions all have their own place, giving future owners a much clearer picture of the cattery before the first conversation begins.
