Simba’s Love Cattery is a TICA-registered British Shorthair cattery run by the Popa family in Brașov. The website was built around the way the cattery actually works: breeding cats, litters, kitten availability, health testing, pedigrees, reservations, and the questions future owners usually have before they ever make contact.

The Challenge

A growing breeding program changes constantly. New litters arrive, kittens become reserved, older litters still matter as part of the cattery’s history, and prospective owners want to understand much more than whether a kitten happens to be available today.

The website needed to keep that information organised while also helping Simba’s Love Cattery filter and prepare incoming requests before the first conversation.

  • Give every breeding cat its own profile with pedigree, parentage, health information, and photography
  • Organise kittens by litter and keep their availability updated as they move from available to reserved and adopted
  • Keep previous litters accessible instead of removing them once every kitten has left
  • Explain the health testing, documentation, and adoption conditions behind each kitten
  • Help visitors understand the British Shorthair breed, including its colours, temperament, care, and other practical considerations
  • Qualify reservation requests before a phone call by collecting preferences such as sex, colour, and whether the kitten is intended as a pet or for breeding
  • Build enough useful breed content to attract visitors organically, not only people already searching for Simba’s Love Cattery by name

What We Built for Simba’s Love Cattery

Built with Breakdance, the website was organised around the actual breeding program rather than a collection of static pages. Breeding cats have their own profiles, kittens are grouped by litter, and previous litters remain available as an archive as the cattery grows.

The homepage also introduces the five British Shorthair colours bred by Simba’s Love Cattery — blue, lilac, tortie, cinnamon, and chocolate — using photography of the cattery’s own kittens. This gives future owners a much clearer reference than a colour name alone and often helps them narrow down what they are looking for before getting in touch.

For visitors who are still researching the breed, we created a dedicated British Shorthair section covering its origin, lifespan, typical weight, temperament, coat, nutrition, and day-to-day characteristics. It gives someone considering the breed enough context to decide whether a British Shorthair is actually a good fit for their home.

That content also has a second role: it gives the website useful, long-form information around the breed itself, helping Simba’s Love Cattery appear in searches that begin with a general question rather than the cattery’s name.

Each litter page records the sire and dam, birth date, individual kittens, and their current status. Visitors can check whether a kitten is available or reserved without having to ask first, while older litters remain online as part of the cattery’s history rather than disappearing once the kittens have been placed.

The site also explains what happens after a kitten is chosen. Kittens leave the cattery from three months of age with a microchip, pedigree certificate, signed contract, complete health passport, and copies of the parents’ genetic and viral testing. Reservations are made through a contract and a 30% deposit, so those conditions are clear before the process moves forward.

The reservation form was built to collect more than contact details. Future owners can specify their preferred sex and colour and whether they are looking for a companion animal or a kitten for breeding. This gives the Popa family useful context from the first message and makes it easier to match an inquiry with the right kitten or future litter.

That qualification step matters in practice. Instead of every inquiry starting with the same questions, the family already knows what the person is looking for and can continue the conversation from there.

Reviews from families who have already adopted from Simba’s Love Cattery have their own dedicated section, with names, photographs, and their experience with the cats after adoption. For someone researching a breeder, those stories add a perspective that the cattery’s own presentation cannot provide on its own.

The Result

Since launch, the website has generated more than 500 leads, with periods where upcoming kittens were already reserved before birth. Over the past 16 months, it has maintained an average Google position of 5.4 entirely through organic search, without paid advertising.

For Simba’s Love Cattery, the website now handles much of the work that used to happen manually: explaining the breed, presenting the breeding program, showing current availability, setting expectations around adoption, and collecting useful information from future owners before the first direct conversation.
